Privacy policy

This site is run by Landon Dickey. This page explains what the site collects, why, who helps run it and the choices you have. Questions or requests go to privacy@landondickey.com.
What the site collects
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message, so I can reply to you.
- Feedback about the site. What kind of note it is and your message, plus which part of the page you were on and whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer. You don’t give a name or email address. It reaches me at feedback@landondickey.com and is never shown on the site.
- Open channel. Your callsign and message. Every post is reviewed before it goes public, and approved posts are visible to everyone. Please don’t include personal details.
- The Space Jockey. Your question, the last few questions before it and which part of the site you’re on. When the green AI light at the top of the chat is on, these go to an AI provider to write the answer. The chat isn’t saved on the site and I don’t get a copy, but please don’t share anything sensitive in it.
- The demos in Mission Control. Anything you type into a demo, like a task name, a sample inquiry or a sentence to tighten, goes to an AI provider to do that one piece of work while AI is on. It isn’t saved on the site and I don’t get a copy. Please don’t type anything sensitive.
- AI allowances. To keep AI answers and demo runs fair, each connection gets a weekly allowance. The site doesn’t store your IP address for this. It keeps a scrambled code made from it, with your counts, for about a week.
- Technical data. Like most websites, the services that host this site receive your IP address and browser details when your browser loads pages, fonts, the chat or the demos.
- Things kept in your browser. Your accessibility choices, the size you set for the chat, anything you add to the demos, your Open channel callsign and a copy of your recent posts stay in your own browser, along with when you last sent a form, which helps slow down spam. None of this is sent to me, except a callsign and post when you send one. Clearing your browser’s data for this site removes it.
The site doesn’t use advertising, analytics trackers or tracking cookies, and I don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising.
Read aloud and voice typing
These optional accessibility features use the speech tools built into your own browser. The site never receives your voice.
- Read aloud uses the most natural voice your browser offers, and you can pick another under Read aloud in Accessibility. Some voices run on your device. Online voices, marked “online” in that list, send the text being read to the company that makes the browser to turn it into speech.
- Voice typing uses your browser’s speech recognition. In some browsers, including Chrome, your audio goes to the company that makes the browser to be turned into text, under that company’s privacy policy. Only the text you choose to send reaches the site.
Who helps run the site
- Supabase stores contact messages, Open channel posts and site feedback, in the United States.
- Web3Forms delivers contact messages and site feedback to my inbox. It keeps submissions for up to three years and uses spam filters that see your IP address and the email address on a contact message.
- My email provider keeps contact messages and site feedback in my inbox.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the connection to the AI provider. It processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and keep the site secure, under its own privacy policy. The site’s request logs there are deleted within a week.
- Anthropic writes the Space Jockey’s AI answers and runs the demos’ AI. Anthropic says it deletes this data within 30 days unless it’s flagged for a policy violation or the law requires keeping it, and it doesn’t use the data to train its models.
- OpenAI helps me review Open channel posts and site feedback with ChatGPT, under OpenAI’s own privacy policy.
- LinkedIn applies its own policy if you follow the link to my profile.
How long it’s kept
Contact messages, site feedback and Open channel posts are deleted after two years, from Supabase and from my inbox, unless we’re working together. Web3Forms deletes its copy within three years. AI allowance counts expire after about a week.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete anything you’ve sent, or to have an Open channel post taken down, email privacy@landondickey.com or send a request through the contact form. I’ll respond within 30 days.
Do Not Track
The site doesn’t track visitors across other websites, so browser Do Not Track signals don’t change how it works. No advertising or analytics company collects information through this site.
Children
The site isn’t intended for children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their information. If I learn a child has sent something, I’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top and note what changed on this page.
October 3, 2026. Added the chat size you set to what’s kept in your browser. Explained how Read aloud picks a voice and what online voices send. Privacy questions and requests now go to privacy@landondickey.com. Site feedback is now also emailed to me through Web3Forms, at feedback@landondickey.com.
